Im no expert but ive been doing brakes jobs for people and myself for 15+ years. "one man bleeder" PLEASE DONT USE THESE. There is no replacement for old fashioned 2 man brake bleeding. The problem you will have with the 1 man system is you will feel soft in the pedal. I use this system and allways works for me. Grab you buddy, wife, girl friend, or anyone lol. Fill the res up with fluid. Start and furthest point should be pass rear. have helper pump the brakes up real good and hold pressure on the pedal then you open bleed screw "FIRE IN THE HOLE" I like to use a 1/4 inch -3/8 inch ruber hose off the bleed screw into a bucket to catch the excess other wise your bathing in it. Have the helper tell you when the brake pedal is on the FLOOR. MAKE SURE THEY HOLD THE PEDAL DOWN UNTILL YOUVE TIGHTENED THE BLEED SCREW!. After its tight tell them to release the brake pedal. I like to do this twice on each brake. I check fluid lvl after every bleed. refill and repeat on all brakes. Hope this help some and you can understand my redneck instructions lol.

Got my buddy to come over today and did exactly that. I might have to do it again in a few days as time allows. They feel much better, but e150s are know for crappy brakes. I wish they would feel/work like my old 79 e350 superwagon....damn I miss that truck.
If this a used mstr cyl going to the floor can cause problems. Best to put a 2x4 under the pedal and stop there and inch or so before it hits the floor.
Thanks for the info! - I have a similar problem and I used a "one man bleeder" - I have replaced MC, booster, pads and shoes and stiull have a spongy brake - I will try to rebleed them the way I should have in the first place. Thanks again
Better yet, don't put used brake parts on anything you drive. It's just not a good idea.
I'm assuming the rear brakes are adjusted correctly? Has the booster ever been replaced? If it has, was the nut on the pushrod put back in exactly the same place?
Just FYI, the master cylinder I swapped on was a Bendix unit that is a reman. Doing the 2 man bleed was the key. Pump the pedal 3 or 4 times, open the bleeder valve so the pedal goes to the floor and close the valve. Check the fluid level and repeat several times to make sure you push all the air through.
