Can you tell my the VIN if an engine is a 351W or 351C???

 

you have a 351w.

 

the gassers in these years got:
300, 302, 351w and 460's
no 351 Cleveland engine was factory installed in a truck. Plus it was killed off way back in '74.

There ya go ... the 351C became the 351M in 75 when they started putting cat converters on the cars .... I don't know the last year the M was available in a truck ... but I am sure that trucks didn't get cats till a few years after 75 ... they had a loophole similar to the one the auto industry exploits for EPA fleet average MPG rules by introducing soooo many SUV's now.

 

'82 was the last rear IIRC. '83 the 460 was put in.

 

Anyone know where I can find a good "Ford" older truck mechanic in the N. Va area?? Maybe Maryland its not too far?
