rear ends

hey all i just bought a rear end for my 1989 F250, its out of a 93 F250 my question is will it match up and second it has 355 gears in it are they any good as far as driving and stuff any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

it's a direct replacement (same axle) and make sure if it's 4wd that you also have a matching gear up front.

3.55s are the most popular factory ratio.

i called a guy at a rear end sahop he said the pinion gears were longer on the 93 rear end 10.25 but wasnt sure if it was internal or external do you know anything about this or have you actually done the swap? thanks for the help

The housing is the same, the pinion i think is slightly different but all I can say is measure the parts and see if the pinion yoke is any different.

You could always swap the ring and pinions to the new axle.

the ring and pinion are what is blown in the other i just came back from the shop and it looks like it will work (fingers crossed) but thanks for the help.
