Suddenly I feel a lot better about the value of my truck. I saw this on E-... item number 130046879249
the bidding was already up to about $4900 and there is not really much of a truck there. I guess some folks will pay anything for an old truck?
I think $4500 is a fair price, it already has an updated powertrain and a new bed, just needs the fenders worked on and a gand dumped in the interior and it would be ready for paint.
I'd call it 1/3 done money-wise and maybe 1/2 done overall. I think it's priced pretty fairly having been through the process, but I am also surprised to see that recognized by the bidders.
By the way, it appears to be missing the rear fenders, which are not available in repro in steel, and finding a clean set is mighty tough, mighty $$. I was quoted 10 hours each ($500) to fix my rust buckets. Going the glass route, they are $550 a pair + shipping.
Well, like I said, it makes me feel better about the value of my truck. I'm in about $5500 at this point and have a ways to go. So considering what my truck is looking like, I feel really good.... and maybe I should have just kept my trap shut.....
I see your point, but the whole eBay thing is so screwy. This one did not get a single bid on eBay, despite a $5k opening bid, rebuilt flathead, never rusted, wtc. I could do without the flames, but that's just me...
I love eBay for finding parts but hate to think I am bidding against anyone here.
However, with the $2,700 I have in mine and a LLLLLOOOOOOONNNNGGGG way to go, it makes me feel good as well. On the other hand, bring the price down so maybe some insurance would be cheaper. I still haven't decided how to do security/theft prevention on it yet.

Around this price I would be very happy with this one but who knows what the reserve was. You`re right, it is very screwy, I think it should have had quite afew bids on it at this price as it looks real nice and seems rust free.
