There is a unique right hand drive 1948 F-1 from South Africa listed on Ebay. It looks a little weird. They have a lot of pictures of it posted.

I saw that this morn on Ebay, a rather unique truck. I was wondering about the radio pic. looks like some kind of retro fit, with the pop rivets holding something there. There's a 1950 F-2 in Indonesia that's being restored with the RHD set up. I sold him a few parts last year.

The truck does not have a stock radio in it, or maybe it was the unit they installed in South Africa. I saw a adapter kit like that on ebay a few times, it was used to install a '48-50 car radio. What I find interesting about the truck is that the stick shift is still on the right hand side of the driver. I wonder what the linkage set up is on the truck to accomplish a smooth operation. I also like the tail light bracket, I wonder if that part is specific to the South African trucks or if it was offered in the States too. I have never seen any like it.

I'm not sure about that shifter location..... I thought the same thing when I looked at the picture of the seat. But I think its just an illusion.... Look at the very top picture (primarily of the steering wheel/dash). There the shifter appears to be in the middle of the truck (left of the steering wheel).

Wow! If the pics are for real, I'm impressed. I just wish the underside of my 56 was that clean. There's still a ton of baked on Oklahoma mud and oil on it. One of these days I'm gonna get under it and clean with something radioactive.
