Need help in identifying component

Hi all,>>

Please see the last picture in my gallery. The picture is of the upper left portion of the engine compartment, next to the firewall, with the front passenger area on the other side of the firewall. I've doctored it with my notes. I trying to identify the components in the picture. The components consist of the big round black box which has a smaller component on it. There is a smaller component has a white hose attached to it. This white hose was broken and decaying. I got some black tubing which was larger and fit it over one end of the white hose, which can be seen in the picture. The other end of the black tubing is attached at the other good end of the white hose and covered with a black housing and black tape. <O></O>

I think the component has something to do with the environmental controls. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure if my repair fixed what the white hose/tube controlls.<O></O>

Thanks, Mike R.

Looks like a door control for the heater/ac.

sturat1 is right on, it looks like the blend door actuator motor. Vacuum controlled.

Hi all,
Thanks to those who responded. I'll have to do some more testing with the heater and A/C. I'll test with the hose attached and with it off. I did do some testing but couldn't see the difference. Maybe the door control is broken. But I can test that by hooking up a vacuum to the line.
Regards, mrivney
