my truck is an 85 w/ the vv feedback carb and 302....all the smog stuff is gone and the timing is off b/c the previous owner took some stuff off of the eec-4 electrical doohickie
it "passed" inspection yesterday but the shop was pissed...the dealer can't tell me nething about the truck and im fixing it for good over this winter
what should i do?
ik i need the distributor swap and a carb swap (prolly goin w/ a 4 bbl which entails a manifold swap too)...is this what i should do? any suggestions would be helpful
btw if i do this swap, what do you recommend i use for the carb (brand, capacity), and where can i find the distributor swap?
i am just in the process of finishing doing the same thing on an 85 with a 300-6 banger.... my manifolds were warped pretty bad, so i found some off of a 66 which lacked all the extra vacuum stuff. Went to a parts house and ordered a distributor for a 66 with a 300-6, and it cost me $60, but now it runs without all the extra bs....need to do a little fine tuning to the carb that came with the manifolds, but i took care of my problem...just in time for winter
