Question 351 M

i have a 1980 bronco with a 351m motor, is this a good one?

in stock form no. if built properly and basicly transformed into a 400 can be a torque monster with decent hp. mpg will be awful but the nice thing is you can easily swap in a 460, have same if not better mpg and will bolt up to your current tranny. so very little changes needed.

The 351m has been rated as great boat-anchores.I had two Rancheros,one with a 351m and the other with a swapped 429.The 429 was strong and always gave better mileage.In fact the bigger the load the better it did on fuel.So if your 351 is getting tired,concider swapping in a 460.When I rebuilt my 429(changed it to a 460) the parts where cheaper than the 351/400 parts.The 460 bolts right on your c6 and you will need the 460 engine mounts( they are also easy to fabricate your own).

ya my 351m she's geting tired, i thought maybe i would rebuild her, but sounds like the 460 the way to go.
