Cruise control surging
1989 F150 5.8L, 351W: Yesterday, on the way home from work, my cruise control started surging. When I set the cruise it surges and the gas peddle goes up and down with each surge. It did it again this morning. It's been raining a lot but that's the only difference there's been lately.

i have the same problem, only it happened after I raced my friend and broke the spring inside the speedometer, but since our speedometers are mechanical, I didnt see the connection. does the VSS in the rear diff control the cruise on our years? (87-90)

yeah, thats what I thought mine was, but there were no leaks, and it only surges when the speedometer does the same (because of the broken spring), but its mechanical and gets its signal from the cable in the transfer case, and the cruise gets its signal from the VSS correct?
