engine cuts out

Newbie here, both to the forum and diesels in general. Just bought a 2003 F350 Lariat with the 7.3 in it. Great truck, should have gone diesel a LONG time ago, but...

Anyway, I've experienced an issue with the engine cutting out under acceleration. I've had it for a couple weeks, it's done it 4 or 5 times. It's only for a second, it happens so fast it's over before I can figure out what just happened. It's always been under load, not towing, just acceleration. Also it's always been warm, not when it's just started. Could be coincidence I guess though. I do know the tach drops, obviously, but it comes back to life so quick I can't tell if anything else is going on. Seems like some kind of sensor that normally tells the motor to go, isn't telling it for a split second.

Any idea what it could be? Would it leave a code so I could go back to the dealer and tell them to read it? Other than that, starts and runs fantastic.

Cool - thanks a lot for the info. Bought it from a dealer so I'm going back to let them deal with it, I appreciate the quick help!
