big truck wheels

I have a 1954 c700 with 8 lugs on a 10 inch circle and a 1954 f750 with the same. Does any one know how long ford used this 8 lug 10 inch circle wheel, from when to when, and did any one else. Need to get some replacements. Thanks

Back in September a guy asked this question on both the Bonus Built site and on the Yesterday's Trucks site. On the YT site I answered that only Ford used this bolt pattern but that Budd made these wheels in both the "split rim" (the bad ones that connect at the midline) and "lock ring" styles. Lock ring wheels can still be serviced. I included part numbers if you care to go there to look at it. On the BB site Chuck Mantiglia answered that Ford offered an optional tubeless wheel starting in 56 and used it up into the mid 60s when Ford discontinued use of this bolt pattern. They are obviously the best solution, but Chuck says they're hard to find.

Budd is now out of the wheel business having been absorbed into Allied Signal in the 90's, but you could check the Accuride on-line catalog to see if they offer a modern wheel with this bolt pattern.
