wheel bearings

I had a front wheel bearing go out tonight. Just wondering some details on how to replace. Hopefully I didn't wreck the hub or anything else . Thanks

I went to change my front brakes only to find out it was a bad wheel hub that grenaded on me. It wasn't bad and took more time chasing parts around town. Expensive too.

You might read guzzle's write up here. It goes a little further into servicing the needle bearing but just stop when you get the wheel hub off. Great write up!! Love his site.

He also has a write up on lubing and servicing your autolock hubs if you are worried about damage to them.

Should have also said that the wheel bearings are not servicable and you have to replace the entire wheel hub assembly. Make sure you get the right one if you have front ABS. I don't remeber exactly but I spent a little more than $300 when I replaced mine

I feel proud. I read almost daily and have never had a need to post much because I find what I needed to resolve my issues. The answers are all here if you a persistent enough to find them.

I finally had something to contribute to a fellow new user. Thanks to Guzzle.
