Does anybody know how to modify the steering pump on a 95 f350 so that I can pump more fluid.I have to rev the engine to steer sitting still or while turning moving slowly.
you might be able to drill an orifice larger or not, I dont know. If it cant turn the wheels on idle, that wont help much. A used pump is easy to find and you would have to pull the junk one out anyways. Might as well put one that works in...and if you can find a tech write up on drilling it then practice on your junk one.
There is no drilling on a pump, no orifice, no nothing like that... Been working and teaching hydraulics for years. Trust me on this.
A used pump may even be better than a reman pump. Most of the reman pumps are noisy junk. The rebuilders have no idea how to rebuild a pump. A NEW pump from Ford is another po$$ibility.
Whenever you work on the PS system you need to install a filter in the return line or you can kiss your replacement pump goodbye.
