remote start... PLEASE HELP

remote start... PLEASE HELP
ok, so i have ben lookin every were for a good deal on a remote start installed, then my friend tried to tell me it was easy to do your self.. so i drive a 2002 ford F250 Xlt super cab 4x4 and i took the time today to look inside my dash, i took off the pannel inder my steering wheel that says fuse panel, and i noticed there is a little black box that says accesories, there is a plug for a starter. now is this just for something to hook up to, or is my truck already set up, and i just have to buy a unit, im compleatly lost.... please help

I had one installed in my PSD last year. $250. Figure the parts are maybe $100, so for the extra $150 I let them hassle with it. Love it. Make sure you get one that has the glow plug timer. Some just have timers which are ok, but the newer ones, can read the data code that sets controls the glow plug light and only cranks when the glow plug sending unit give it the OK. Mine is an O6. I think the older ones may use a more basic approach, like monitor power to the dash light.
