good luck. I paid $49 for mine at Autozone and they were the tape kind. I guickly realized how useless they are though. Maybe they'll come in handy when I get transfered to a state where it doesn't rain every day

Reason: ??
that's why i woul think that the in-channel kind would work better.
Moss has them for $39.00 per set of 2.
tylus why were yours useless was the water wicking thru the tape?
or was the tape never really able to get a secure bond?

nothing of that sort at all. the angle of the trucks window doesn't allow me to roll the window down more than 1" before it's exposed and rain can get into the truck.
It's just a engineering aspect. they can't match the curvature of the door and still cover the window sufficiently. it would start out narrow and be almost double the size at the other end.
my set adhered perfectly and the rain does NOT wick through the tape. the only dry spot on my truck is under those deflectors. I actually installed mine in 45F with it raining. I pulled the truck into the garage, and had them installed in about 15-20 minutes after I dried it all out. The alcohol pads they provide ensured the sticking area was properly prepped
Well they do make different kinds of rain deflectors. It sounds like you have the basic (they do offer some HUGE goofy ones too). I have never had an issue with the basic cement-on style.
i have the in channels, and i got a set of all four on ebay for 45.00 shipped to me. they are the wade brand, and i am completely happy with them. i live in south east alaska, and we average 13 feet of rain per year. so far, i like the looks much better than the stick on type.
the weathertech ones are the best from what I hear, worth the extra $$. I have AVS in-channel and I'm not thrilled with the fit. They function well, but I would like better quality on my next set. I got mine off E-bay for $29, brand new.

Matt, did you say 13 FEET of rain?!?!?
and Tylus, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!
Coming from a guy who owned two sets of AVS inchannle and going to Weathertech, it was a night and day difference. The material on the weathertech is better in terms of quality and fitment. Plus, the piece that slides into the channle is much thinner on the Weathertech and they use a clip to hold the pieces in. Very unique and smart. Also, they are OEM quality and manufactured in Germany
I purchased a set of Weather-Techs a couple of months ago for my 05 Screw King Ranch and have been extremly happy with them. My buddy who works at Advance Auto Parts was jealous of them since he had put AVS on his Ranger. Don't believe you can go wrong with the WT's.
