Turn signal cancel ring problem.

Turn signal cancel ring problem.
On my '76 Supercab with CC, i put a later model steering wheel from a '78 or '79 F series. I now have a non op resume button but that is fine. The question is, the cancel cam ring from the '76 wheel does not fit on the newer wheel properly. It seems that the '76 wheel has a smaller diameter center spindle where the cancel cam ring would slide on. I see the part is available aftermarket but it only shows one part number for '73-'79 F series trucks. Is '76 a one year oddity steering wheel with the CC buttons? I'd like the wheel to cancel the turn signal and always forget. I hope this makes sense?

The 70's Trucks never had Resume. (That's an 80's feature)
70's .....On/Off .....Set/Coast
I assume it isn't a tilt column ?
The 77 TS w/cruise is a hard to find switch as it is special.
NAPA has one & the H.E.L.P. section in auto parts store are available.. but lacking in quality from original.

I am actually looking for the cancel cam that goes on the wheel not the column. It is the little metal collar with the tab that cancels the turn signal when the wheel turns, and no it is not a tilt column. Does this make sense. It is called a Cam signal off in the LMC catalog which lists the same part number for '73-'91 applicatioins. Could this be because I can't get the one off my '76 wheel to fit correctly.

Oh okay, I thought you meant the cancelling plastic collar.

Yes, that's the part. The one off of my '76 wheel is smaller and is spread so wide it doesn't fit the newr wheel but everywhere I've seen it, it lists only one part number for '73-'91. I don't want another one that doesn't fit. Is the '76 wheel a one year part or the one off of all of the others?

The link looks like the correct part. If you look on the back of a steering wheel in the middle of the contact area, you'll see where it mounts by sliding over the center of the back section of the wheel. Without dimensions, it's hard to tell what will fit and what won't. I am trying to figure out if there were two sizes of the part in the link you posted. The one from my stock '76 wheel doesn't fit the newer steering wheel.
