Door ajar

I have an '03 F-250 SD 4X4 Super Cab. I bought it last week used . i have noticed that the driver side door(s) have been intermitently seeming not be regognized by the truck that they are closed. The door ajar indicator will stay on for a while as well as the dome and bed lights. Last night they stopped going off totally. For now i have all the bulbs out. Help.

I think if you spray the door latches good with wd-40 it will cure the problem. That happened to mine an 01 Shortly after I bought it a couple years ago. Somebody told me about this fix and it worked, no problem since. Good Luck. I wish the problem im having now was that simple.

i work at a car lot and the door switches are in the latch...so from my understanding if the wd-40 dont work you will have to order a new latch. (that was on a 03 f150 supercrew)

WD40 followed by a good silicone spry lube will do the trick. Had the same problem on my 01 Excursion. Cured the problem.

Ive had this with both my 1/2 ton and now my 3/4 ton. Lube it up good, activate the mechanism several times and you should be all set. spunks00 is right, the switch is in the latch so don't worry about the hinge area.
