I have a 1988 f250 2wd diesel and the wipers only have high speed ( if you can call it that) the slow and intermintent do not work and they do not park they just stop where you turn them off, could it be the motor or the switch. I have only owned the truck a couple days now. thanks for the help Robb

I had the same problem on my 1988 F150, I changed the wiper motor (got one used from a junk yard), the problem was fixed for a while but returned. What I did (and do regularily) to fix the issue was pull the plastic cap off the front of the wiper, clean the surface of the inside of the cap and place a fresh skim coating of dielectric grease to it and put it back on. Works like a charm, I guess moisture gets in there and it doesn't contact the cap properly. I do this about every month and a half....
I have the same problem. It's not he motor. It's the governor. Pull the plate off the left side dash, where the ***** for the Wipers and headlights are. There is a little black box to the right of the wiper switch. That is what's bad. turn on the slow or intermittent and tap/slap/hit the box. They should start. Some models have it UNDER the dash to the back of the fuse box. It's about 3" x 3" or 2" x 2". Find another one at a yard and test it. Local parts stores "Have never heard of a governor" That's it, though.
