removing windshield/chrome????
on a 59 f100, what is the best way to remove the windshield and keep the chrome intact. The molding is 45+years old and has been baking in the Arizona heat the whole time. On the back window I cut the molding from the outside and lifted out on the inside. It seem to be I should do the reverse on the front window, cut the moulding on the inside and push the window out with the molding and chrome still atached. any tips on seperating them onec it is out also would be appreciated

removing windshield
Try shooting all around inside and outside rubber seal with PB Blaster and let it set for a while. I douse it liberally and let it soak for a day or so. Then snake a strong nylon fishing line through the upper corner of the windshield and with help you "saw" the line back and forth all around the window while pushing outward on it. You do need a partner on this if you want to do it without screwing it up. I don't know how it will work on your truck but it works for me.

update....used an old weed pulling fork, and cracked a 3-4 inch area off of the inside rubber(with a twisting motion), until it was all off, then lifted out windshield and carefully removed chrome strip.
