Passing by my local garage today I spotted a great original 1956 M350 today that is actually a one family owned farm truck that is being cleaned up a bit to be driven more regularly. The problem is that it has to pass a safety inspection and all the brake drums though being used on the farm, are shot. The mecanic at the garage can get every part but the new brake drums. The owner also just bought 4 new 17in tires for his original 17 in 6 lug rims and would like to keep the truck original.
Does anyone have any suggestions or know if drums are availible, or have some used drums that are still salvagable.
This truck seems to be absolutely stock and is in amazing condition. Still has its original faded paint and the cab corners and door sills are totally clean. I'll try and grab some picture of it tomorrow.
Thanks for any help or suggestions

Went and looked at the tread and it covers bigger trucks. This is only a one ton, but still having problems finding drums. Tried search for 350 info and found lots of info but not about drums.
Anyone......is there any info to where they can be had? Heeellllp????
Around 10 years ago I had problems finding decent drums for my 1939 Packard Super 8....someone recommended having them hard chromed, and turned down to standard. I had a local shop do the work...it wasn't cheap...but worked just fine.
Have you looked through the "Services Offered" section in Hemmings Motor News?
There are so many more big trucks being restored today, that there's gotta be a source out there for drums.
Unfortunately we could not find drums for the truck so the owner is going to leave it as his farm truck only. He can't get it to pass safety with the old drums on it. It's a shame as the truck is in such increadible original condition. I will try to get some pictures of it before it leaves back to the farm.
Our local larger parts suppliers can find most parts for the older vehicles. I have to try quite afew sources at times but always find parts. It`s not easy but somewhere they can be found if you look long enough and find the right source by asking around so don`t give up if it`s a nice truck.
They Might Cross Match With A Newer Truck As Well. Also Check With A Larger Truck Shop. They Might Know What Will Cross Match Or They Might Still Be Available. Job Lot Automotive Might Be A Good Source As Well.
I think I may have solved your dilema. I have a set of brake drums front and back from my extra parts. I have no way of measuring them to see if they are within specs though. I'm pretty sure they are, but not 100%. Are you interested? If so, what are they worth? I don't know. Make me an offer. I see you are also located in BC, so freight should not be too much.

Please use pm`s for this, thanks.
This will be great if it works out and help keep the F350 on the road.
Newer IH Drums and Wheels ( 1960's to 70's ) will work on our older trucks and are fairly easy to find. Have used IH parts on 48 to early 50's FORD trucks before

No biggie, thanks for your cooperation.
It`s just a reminder so it doesn`t get out of hand, the site admin doesn`t want FTE to turn into a garage sale, that`s why the classifieds were set up.
