Dave's outside the bed stack setup.

Here's Dave's stack setup. I like it and know that he has toiled over this for some time and finally fabbed it up. It may not be the first in the world but it is definately the first I can recall seeing here. This may be a good option for those not wanting to cut a hole in the bed and those with duallies. With his permission, here it is :

I've been looking at that pic in his gallery for awhile, waiting for him to make an announcement about it. Now that it is out maybe we can get Dave to tell us about it. Does he like it, how does it sound, was it worth it? One of my kids looked at the pic and said " That is cool, looks like a longhorn"

Cool.

I think an outside-the-bed stack setup like this would only look good on a dually. Would probably look silly on a single rear wheel truck.

Same here. IMO any stack that sticks out beyond the profile of the truck would be dumb.

Are they 4" or 5"? Other than the stacks not looking shiney in that picture, it looks pretty good. Where is the black ring around the edge?

Talking Only 4 inchers....

Sorry about the quality of the pic.....I was shooting with an old Sony disc type camera that the resolution was good enough to shoot closeups for ebay but definitely not anything beyond that.....It has been damp and the camera had gotten some moisture somewhere in it and this is the ONLY pic that you could even tell it was a truck....the humidity messed with the focus and the (cheap) electronics of the camera and when I tried to insert another floppy disk in it, it kept telling me disc error....so that one grainy crappy pic is the only one for now and maybe Sandy claws will be good to me.....we shall see........Thanks for all the compliments...it was a long time coming. They are 4 inch chrome (once again went inexpensive due to experimenting) and most likely next time around or maybe next spring go for the stainless system and won't have to worry about rust or anything like that...they were by no means expensive, just enough to fit and adjust and something to hang for now.........Upgrades will be a must probably sooner than later........Take care and thanks agian..Dave

Yeah, that is what I meant to say with the original post but wrote "and" in there and it floated away on me.
