Someone asked to listen to my exhaust today, so I was revving up the truck sitting still in neutral. It seemed like the throttle was sticking when I let off the pedal. It pauses for a second before the motor starts slowing back down. When it comes back to idle it seems like it misses a little. I have not noticed any driveability problems at all. The truck has plenty of power and gets 20mpg. Does the drive by wire system cause this pause, do all of these trucks do this?
Heres where to start from the service manual
AE1 PRELIMINARY CHECKS
Perform the following preliminary checks:
PCM system check
Accelerator pedal for binding, broken return spring, stuck condition (floor mats)
External fuel source
Engine not reaching normal operating temperature
AE3 CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL
Check for floor mat interference.
Check bushing for damage.
Check return spring
For some reason i have noticed that there is a pause before the engine will idle back down with a standard transmission. listen to someone elses truck and see if theirs is the same
