2003 Headlight removal

2003 Headlight removal

What is the secret to removing the headlight housings? I removed the 2 horizontal bolts at the top and loosened the 1 vertcal bolt behind the housing, but I cant seem to pull the housings fwd and out.
The housing seems to move fwd about 1/4 inch then no more.

I tried to search but couldnt access the page

I removed mine about a week ago. There's a connection towards the bottom of the assy that has to be loosened. It's hard to see. It it wasn't already dark outside I'd go get the exact location.

Headlight Removal

I removed my drivers side headlight a few weeks ago, actually there are 2 connectors to take out, one for the main beam and one for the indicator lights. It was pretty easy, maybe you need to loosen the vertical bolt more. Good luck.

I just changed the headlights on my 03 a couple of weeks ago. There are the two horizontal bolts and one vertical bolt. It seems that you have to loosen the vertical bolt quite a bit. The headlight assy seems to catch slightly on the side adjacent to the grill, so be careful there. Otherwise it pretty much comes out straight and directly forward. No twisiting or turning.
