transmissions?

I'm putting a 1993 5.0 HO into my mazda, and was wondering which transmission would bolt to this?
I'm looking for an automatic with a floor shifter and hopefully no wiring other than the safety switch and reverse, thanks for helping out.

the part numbers would really help if anyone has those as well, I've been looking for almost a week and don't really know about the different Ford transmissions

Mazda what? Mx 5? B2000?

C4 for 3 speed auto, AOD gets you OD. Both can be mod'd for power and performance.

You got money or are you looking to try $50 transmissions till you get one that works?

This isn't really the forum for tranny questions, but I'll leave it here as these guys know their stuff and you're already getting answers.

c4. simple and straight forward, plus lighter weight.

I would go with a T-5 or tremec 5 speed. it will help you handle the power of that size motor in such a small car.

He doesn't want a 5 speed.

AOD. This vehicle is light enough so the OD will be very usable. C4 cheaper, but we're talking V8s now and that means money to burn...

TCI and some others also have C4 goodies, including shifters.

Good luck.
