I installed the magnaflow SISO kit finally. I was kinda disapointed. The kit didn;t go all the way to the cat. Their is still 3' of stock pipe. And the sound is extreamly quiet even with my foot in it! Will it get louder with time?
It should open up a little bit -- I have true dual super 40 flowmasters and its starting to sound VERY NICE, about 1000 miles on the new exhaust now -- I am thinking of gutting my cats if it wont mess with the o2 sensors
It will mess with your o2 sensors. But you can get something called o2 sims. It's chips for the o2 sensors that will fix the problem it causes. You'll have to shop around. I dunno where to get them.

Shouldve have cut the OEM muffler off to see if you liked the sound. It's not obnoxiously loud, but perhaps it is what you are looking for. I went from a FLowmaster 40 series to a straight pipe. Will never go back!!!

I had a magnaflow installed. Just replace the factory muffler and used all same pipes. That was about 2-3 weeks ago. Mine seems to be louder now than it was when first installed. Give it a bit and I think you will like it more.
should have gone with the SIDO, my truck went from quiet to roaring. there is also no point in gutting the cats, they already flow pretty good and won't restrict performance until you start pushing the 400+ hp range.
btw, put a nice 3" tip on the tailpiece, that will help in the sound department a little
extend the tip so only 2-3" of tailpipe is inside the tipe. basically just enough for the tip to be tightened down. it sounds like the tip doesn't have enough room for the gases to expand and resonate a little before they exit
The tip on the SISO is welded on. you unfortunatly can't adjust it. After a year you'll be looking to do something with it anyway as it will turn yellow and look like hell, just like mine!!!! Still haven't decided exactly what i want with it yet but, it will wait until after winter. I love the sound of my SISO. Loved it from the second i hit the key after I installed it. Maybe your used to a flowmaster drone?
I'm just going to stick a torch in the pipe and cut it out! Good idea? haha

I'm thinking of just cutting off the stock muffler and putting a piece of pipe.
Could you please try and get me a sound clip of your truck, and rate how loud it is on a scale of 1-10.
1 being stock, 10 being no cats or mufflers(just straight pipe).

Thanks for any help
I cut it where the muffler was, and had a pipe bent to over the axle and dumped it there. compared to where I had it without the pipe being bent, the sound has dampened tremendously. From before having the pipes bent (same to where you would have to cut and replace it with the pipe), I would rate that a 10. I did this only because I initially had a 40 series welded on there, then I cut the whole thing off for like 2 days. Too loud. Now with a bent pipe in there, I would rate it a 7. Good luck
