For the marker light problem, you either have a blown fuse or a burnt connector or wire at the headlight plug.

There are seperate power supplies going into the headlight switch for the headlights and the marker lights. Your marker light power is missing. You are getting power to the markers by fudging the headlight switch contacts in a inbetween position, so the markers are getting power from the headlight power supply. That's why they work with the headlight switch in a odd position.

Your brake lights. Does your high mount third brake light work on the cab?

94 Ranger brake lights

Just purchased a 94 Ranger 4.0 2wd w/56,000 original miles. Runs beautifully but,,,same issue with brake lights and marker lights. Turn on the 4-ways and Brake/turn signals both flash. I still have no brake lights when operating normally? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No brake lights point to the BOO (Brake On Off) switch located at the top of brake pedal. The Emerg flashers and brake lights are on separate circuits. It does show that the bulbs are good. Do you have regular tail lights?

It wound up being a faulty headlight switch on the dashboard($20 at O'Reillys) and a blown fuse. All good now Thanks
