another tire and wheel question.....

I have a 2006 F150 Screw 4x4 with the Autospring 2.5 leveling kit. I really want to lift the truck but havent been able to find the right kit just yet. My question is this, if I keep my factory 18" wheels would the new 305x65x18 BFG's fit with no rubbing and if I went with a new wheel what size combo fits best. I have searched but no answers to these questions. Thanks

haven't lifted my truck yet, but a word of caution

the shocks are outboard the frame rails now. Going with a 305x65x18 makes the tire about 1-2" wider. you might have rubbing issues when using the factory rims when off-camber. if you never offroad, this probably won't be an issue.

btw, the BFG is a pretty bad tire. the reviews on it are not good, and most people on this site who got them as OEM don't like 'em

I totally forgot to also say that a spacer can help with this issue, or you can get rims with more of an offset.

Tylus, the BFG he is referring to is the new All Terrain KO size. It's the good old real deal BFG, not the cheap junk that Ford used. I would suspect it would be ok as some people on here are running the 325's on stock rims. One hell of a pricey tire though.

oh, ok. it's to bad that Firestone/Bridgstone don't make anything bigger than a 33".

So I wonder how good the A/T KO is offroad?

To answer your next question tylus, I think the the A/T KO is damn good offroad. My brother has them on his 1991 F150 and isn't afraid to take it anywhere. he's had it in up to the base of the headlights and it digs it's way out just fine. I went out with him a few times and was very suprised how well the truck did even with open diffs. The muds may do better in mud but i think the at works damn good. If you want to see his pics, search galleries under 1991 f150 4x4. Go to page 2, gallery is called off road, location pa and blue truck. It got out under it's own power every time. The jeep got stuck every time.
