I have an oil leak coming from behind the oil pan there is a small cover where the oil is leaking from. it started leaving a little drop now it is 2 little puddles right next to each other please help
Look in the top of the engine into the valley. If there is an oil or fuel leak up in the valley it will travel down the back of the block and show-up at inspection cover for the tranny/oil pan.
...and if you find fluid in the engine valley, it may likely be diesel fuel coming from a leak of the Fuel Bowl Drain Valve (Yellow Handle) mechanism. There has been an increase in this problem lately and some attribute it to the new ULSD Fuel. Another thread about this suggested replacing the OEM O-Rings with O-Rings made of upgraded material to withstand the revised chemical makeup of the new fuel. I think that BUNA-N was one of the material types.
I myself noticed a "Diesel Fuel" odor in my cab this past week and found that my fuel bowl cap was leaking. I was using an aftermarket filter/cap combination, but did not have any leaks (2,000 miles) until now. It may be the new ULSD fuel attacking the bevel O-Ring on the cap. I replaced with an IH cap and new bevel O-Ring. Not sure if there is an upgraded O-Ring available for this item?

If it isn't the drain lever it is almost certainly one of the HPOP lines. I just had BOTH at once. Look on the driver's side of the HPOP, where the two quick-connect fittings with braided line are. Crank the truck and you can watch them drip. You might even see pieces of blown out O-ring like me :-)
If it is the drain lever assembly, you will need a small ratchet with a T20 Torx bit and patience. If it is the HPOP lines, you will need a very short 19mm wrench. Tehcnically you need a special tool to pop of the disconnects, but I managed my repair without removing them. Of course, this means I couldn't get an exact torque spec, but it's working so far.
Yeah what he said...my vote is the HPOP right under your water/ fuel filter housing. Mine dripped for about a year b4 I went to use my ext. warranty b4 it ran out, they replaced mine. The TSBs are available up top there, in the website headings and it describes what you are seeing under your truck. Shows an exploded view of how the lines go in the pump and the O-Rings. That is what got me to this site in the beginning--- is the Technical Service Bulletins. Good info to read.
