Yeah thats what i plan to do maybe after christmas since that will be the busies time of the year at work and ill be making some bicg $$$ hopefully just i thought i heard removing the cats wouldnt that screw up the o2 sensors or something i gotta check maybe they are already removed
Only on 96 and newer vehicles. If they have an o2 sensor after the cat, then it would set off an engine light when the cat is removed. These are called obd2 vehicles concerning the engine controller and diagnostics. However, if you want to remove cats on obd2 vehicles there is a solution. Remove the cats and install the downstream o2 sensor back in its factory position, or roughly close, and install mil eliminators in-line with the wiring connector to the o2 sensor. This will trick the computer into thinking the cat is still on, giving a leaner fuel mixture signal back to the compuer. No engine light and I've heard of better fuel mileage with this setup too, at least in some cases anyway.
Your truck will have an o2 sensor in front of the cats in an h-pipe style. You can leave it like this, or you can just install it into one pipe - this is what we did to my brother's '95. Cut it out, drill a hole, weld it in, no problem!
