Engine ID HELP Please!
Hello Guys I'm a new guy on the great board! Just bought my first truck project, and trying to dial in what I have...My truck is a 55 with a 6cyl. I was told its a 1965 240, thats why I'm posting here. Can anyone confirm this for me. The number on the left side of the block is EBP-6015-L..
Any help would be great..

EBP casting number is from a 1950's block..so you have an original style OHV 6 banger.
Casting/engineering numbers from a 240 from the 60's would have a C5AE, C5TE or C5TA prefix.
The 240 introduced in 1965.
C=decade=1960's
5=year=1965
A=big Ford
T=truck
E/A=engineering letter
btw...the Z in the prefix of an actual part number (not engineering number) means nothing...it was added in 1959 for phonetic reasons only.

One other thing the oil filter is in the center of the pass side, and the distrubuter is closer to the frt of the engine on pass side, only two bolts hold the valve cover down.. Thanks again guys!!!
