62 custom cab
I noted that he still had a 62 SWB Custom cab there . Looked it over pretty well and thought that it was not nearly as rusty as I had ben let to beleve. And having my 62 Uni allready I had not had any intrest in it till he opend the hood and I fell in love. I ask him if he would get the heck out the way so I could get in there. Shure as heck there sat one of the cleanest Y Blocks I"ve seen in a long time. I took a moment or two to regaine my self. And ask him what engine it had in it. 352 he said. I about fell over and so did he when I informed him that It was a Y block. He had never heard of one. They any good he ask's. I tell him that they are a little under powered With the crossover singal exaust. But with the time and money they could do alright. Well I would shure like to get it out of her he said. So I look it over some more point out the cancer in all the popular playses. And ask him how she ran. Like a cat with it's tale on fire that's why I thought it was a 352 He said. Said I would give him $1500 If she ran as good as he said it did. he said that the fuel pump was out and had to run it out of a can of gas tyed to the wipers. Like we have never done that before. So I will go over in the next day or so and kick it of.
Here is the vin guys tell me what It means Please F10JR67699.
F10JR67699
F10= F100 2wd
J= Engine type 223 6 cylinder 57-64 models
R= Assembly plant San Jose
67699= Consecutive build unit number.
If it was a orginial engine y-block the vin data for engine type would either be a (C) 2v or (D) 4v for a 292 V-8.
Sure wish you wasn't so far way, I would love to beable to find a solid 62 uni and beable to buy it.
Its my dream Slick...
