I don't have a lot of furniture in my garage bay. What I do have is about 15,000lbs of wiring snips, spare parts, and junk. If I organized my piles better I'd have more room.
What eats up a ton of space is my engine run stand... and the 460 that's sitting on it.
What sucks is I piled everything on the floor so I could build better shelving on the rightside wall, built the shelves, and put like three things on the shelves and left the piles on the floor.
Ugh.
Must be time for an FTE "Take anything on the floor" party.
What works great for organizing the garage or shop is one sided steel shelving from a store like Safeway. Each shelf will hold 250 pounds each, adjustable and safe when bolted to the walls. Off the job and free, the best part.
Who said anything about the garage? I actually knew a guy (single) who had a machine shop in his house- milling machine in one room, lathe in another, etc. I'm a fine one to talk- I haven't seen my garage floor in years...
I refinanced my house for repairs and additions when the interest rates were super low. Plans have been made. Repairs are scheduled for Jan/Feb. I think I may be able to get my two car garage now, with space for my lathe and future mill etc...
