how does this 4X4 really opperate?
I have a 99 F250 SD with the V10.
It has manual hubs plus the selector switch in the cab. I can feel the front engage no matter which position the hubs are in when I select 4 hi or low.Any good advise?

The hubs will have marked on them "Lock-Unlock" or "Lock-Auto". My 99 has a manual transfer case and manual hubs. If yours has ESOF, your hubs should be auto hubs. But- it is entirely possible someone changed the hubs.
