normal operating temp
I recently installed a mechanical water temp gauge and noticed that my water temp never goes above 170 degrees. Is this normal for the truck? It is a 1999 V-10 4x4. I put the sender in the water jacket plug on the drivers side rear of the block, and used an autometer extension so the sender would fit in the water jacket? Im confused cuz my old F-150 with a 400 would be at about 190 for normal temp.

Your truck should have a 190 degree thermostat in it according to www.motorcraft.com
