Seat Belt locking

I have an old 1988 F150 and I wonder if and when the seat belts should block.
Both (main) 3point seatbelts (drivers side & passengers side) retrackt reasonable, but they dont lock/block when pulled hard.

Since they both dont work, I wonder if they are just both broken, or it is some other (electrical??) mechanism??

do they lock though when you brake hard, the inertia lock should always work

there is a small pendulum in the retractor assembly that locks the belts up when you step on the brakes while moving. they will not lock while sitting still or pulling out on the belt.

Ah thanks! I tested it by braking a bit firm, and then they locked nicely. Guess I dont have to replace them than, thats great!
