Did a lot of searching once, by the time you pay the shipping, someone to mount, balance, new valve stems etc, it was more cost effective to get them locally. Which, I do when I am in Virginia.
It depends. I've used Tirerack mainly for more exotic high-performance tires that are not easy to find locally. Overall satisfaction is still dependent upon who does the mounting and balancing.
In your case, 14 inch sizes can be hard to find locally anymore, so online may be the way to go.
Interesting. I thought 14 size was the most common for light vehicles? Are you saying 15 is more common?
There were a lot of tires in that size of P195/70R14 in Wally World but mostly junk with negative reviews.
I got some cheapest Walmart tire (forget the brand name) which developed a leak somewhere, I took it back - and they couldn't fix it at all, got me a new one.
Moral of the story being, if you are going on a 2,000 mile trip, may not want to get cheapest Walmart tires.
