I have a 2000 f 150 4X4 5.4 L, I have replaced the front rotors and brake pads. When ever i start to slow down and reach a speed of 30mph to 0 it sounds like the calipers a grabbing and releasing, i don;t know how to describe the sound any better really. The peddle dose not vibrate at all, it is a smooth stop just makes some noise. any advice is appreciated. JRC
They make a couple of products to help with this. But first...
did you clean the brake calipers and lube the slides? If everything as with that is good, then what you might want to do is take the caliper off, take out the pads and use some 400 grit sand paper and run over the pads a couple times. Then they make this product called brake silencer or something it comes in a spray can, you spray it on the back of the pads and it stays kinda sticky, this helps the pads stick to the caliper better and retract, and hopefully not squeak or drag in the meantime.
I figured out the problem. the left front caliper was bad. Hope this helps anyone with the same prob. This site is great help. Ive solved a couple problems with some of the posts here.
