With engine running, I pulled off line going to EGR Valve and applied vacumn, the engine tried to die.Does this mean the EGR valve is good?What next?

97, look at the hoses and stand pipe the DPFE is connected to for cracks , rust etc.
If ok, the DPFE is highly suspect.
Both codes togather suggest this.
