Theres been alot of past discussions about the turbo flutter when letting off the gas, Alot of techs on here said it isnt normal and we should take our trucks in, Well, my dealership said its perfectly normal, and they have a bulletin from ford saying so... Just wondering if any of you got your turbos replaced because of this?? Or if your being told the same as me.
do you have a open air filter arod? the turbo will flutter-but you will not notice the litlle bit it can do it with a stock airbox. if you are noticing it with a stock airbox then it is a problem, find a new dealer.
A certain amount of turbo noise is normal. It all depends on how much noise there is, if you have a lack of power and who is determining if it is a normal amount of noise or not.

Mine used to make a pop pop pop when letting off a hard acceleration, hasn't done itin sometime, however my truck is currently at the dealer and has been there for 3 days, nothing done to it yet (pos dealer). My truck is in for a y pipe leak and to have the turbo checked out as advised by another senior master diesel tech.
my 2006 ps with a k & n junk open filter system would flutter every time i let off the pedal under hard acceleration, but after seeing that my 10000$ engine had been ingesting lots of dirt and dusting the turbo, i pulled that junk aftermarket stuff off and put my factory system back on, no turbo flutter with the factory system on for me.

my point exactly, not only is the stock unit the best filter, it is also a "muffler" system for the intake.
