Hey Everyone Sorry it's been a long time since i have been on here.
I have been trying to move out of my parents house, started my new job as a city building inspecter + getting married in a couple of months ( we Have been together for five years. So My truck, jeep and YOU GUY's i haven't had much time for, but hopefully i am back
Any way Got a ? my dads truck has been acting up. When you go to start it try's to start then die's then it will start right up the next time.
It's a 99 crew-cab v10 with 70,000 4'' lift, 35'' tires, hypertech, airaid intake + throttle body spacer, flowmaster, hi-flow mass air sensor. Anything could help me out.
If the maf is a granatelli, I'd try swapping it out first. Then it's the usual maintance stuff, 02 sensors, fuel filter, state of the gas in the tank. After that I would pull the IAC and hose it out and while I had it apart, I'd clean the back of the throttle body too.
If changing back to the stock MAF doesn't help, hit the bare wire in the hi-flow with non residue contact cleaner and reinstall. It shouldn't interfer with openloop, so I doubt it's the problem.
backing reax here! sounds like the iac is gummed up and sticking. I'd do the same base line maintance clean up. only more like at about every 30k on these items.
clean the iac and thottle body. esp. when useing a after market cold air kit.
