If you are at WOT and the engine will rev only to 3K, you have other issues. I have noticed that each gear will go into to lockup and my tach drops 100-150rpms. With my mods it feels like another shift. My 5.4 hits a rev limiter around 5400 rpm.
Have you done the regular maintance stuff like fuel filter, air filter, ect?
Yeah, TC lockup.
Right when you get on the gas, it picks up nicely, then right at 3K it drops to about 2600 RPM right? then back up again. Doesn't really feel like a shift, kind of a bog. On mine, if you hit the gas real hard it doesn't lock up in 2nd. Inclines and loads affect the shift point also.
Normal operation...unfortunately. It'd be nice to have the TC only lock up when it gets to overdrive.
