Installing a Airraid Intake
I am trying to install a cold air intake on my 2001 Excursion 7.3 and when I took off the factory filter and top, there looks like there is some type of sensor in the filter box with a electrical connector on the back. Does anyone know what this is? It looks like it could be a mass air flow sensor or something like that.
There is nowhere on the airraid system to attach it to. I called airraid and they don't seem to know what I am talking about. This is not the filter reset button that goes on the outside of the filter box.

The MAF will have 4 or more wires and I don't think the diesels use MAF (could very easily be wrong.) If it has only two wires I would think it is an air intake temp sensor. If it is not in the path of airflow, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can drill the airaid box and put a gromet in to hold it.
