Does the tach look like it will fit the dash?
I can not remember what the 89 dash looks like compared to the 85 dash.
It can probably be done, but I will not say I am sure about it.
You need to remove the insturment cluster, remove the blank panel where the tach sets in the cluster, the cluster without a tach will not have the correct printed circuit to run the tach, but the wires will be in the insturment cluster plug. You will have to hard wire the tach connections.
