Has anyone added a Jet Performance Modulator to a 1998 Expedition w/ 5.4 and E4OD transmission? What performance gains if any are achieved with this chip?
...but I didn't see any within the first couple of pages related to his question.
I've got one on my '06 but I don't think it is compareable to your model. For what it's worth it had a decent impact on my cars performance, mostly because it has a throttle regulator from the factory. Once that got bypassed it has alot more pep and about a third the gas mileage.
On yours I think the only benefit would be changing the shift points.

Do you really mean it now only gets 5 mpg? Or is it a third better mileage?
Sorry, I was being facetious. I was getting over 15 mpg in mixed driving, now it's at 13.2 mpg. I've been thinking of removing it to save some money, but the throttle response w/o the chip really sux; it's a totally different car with it in. If gas goes up to over $3 again I can deal w/o it though.
I guess for about $100 more I should go with the EDGE Evolution programer. I was only looking at the Jet PCM chip because of the low price. Has anyone used the EDGE Evolution programer? It is my understanding that you gain on the fly adjustments for towing, performance, and fuel economy. What gains are user's with this product in an Expedition seeing?
Probably a wise decision. I got the JET chip new for $75 from a performance shop that ordered it for a customer and never installed it. I never would have spent the MSRP of $300 for one if I could get a programmer for around that price. But I just couldn't pass up the $75 deal.
