This coming weekend's project....BRAKE WORK
Now that the rotors, drums, pads, shoes, and hardware have been replaced on my 78 E150, I have come to the conclusion that I now NEED to replace the master cyl. The parts are cheap enough...hell, the brake fluid costs more than the master cyl! What I was wondering is, will I need to do something funny like bench-bleeding the cyl before it goes in the truck, or do I just bolt that sucker in and run fluid through it until it bleeds clean at all four corners?

Either bench bleed, or replace yours on the van, but not connect the lines, put the bleeder tubes on and slowly pump them up, bleebing it out without a bench. Never replace a master cylinder straight up without bleeding, you'll never get the air out of the lines.
