I am looking for a good intake for my 460. The truck it is in does not get driven on the road at all. It is just a play truck. It's mainly a mud truck. Right now it has a old streetmaster intake and a holley 750 vac carb. It has a 2500 to 5500 cam. I don't have the cam card handy for the specs. I am trying to decide between the air-gap and the stealth. Also, how good are the truck avenger carbs? I don't have much trouble with the holley I have now. But, I just wonder how well the truck avengers perform. Thanks
It would seem to me that with a 2500-5500 rpm cam, you should seek a manifold that works in the same power band. If you read the literature for the manifolds they will tell you where they work best. At least Edelbrock does.
I guess i wasn't real clear. I want a intake that will maintain good bottom. But, still work good with my cam range. I picked the stealth and air-gap cause they seem to be pretty popular. I have read good things about both. And, their ranges are idle-6800 stealth. 1500-6500 air-gap. I was just wanting to know which is a better intake.
I picked the stealth just for its power range and price. I love it! My motor can finnally breathe, I dont drive my truck much either. Just use it for towing my sleds or whatever else and messin with the dues that think their mom's and dad's rides are fast. Anyways I have a stock cam for now, untill I figure out the one I want, the stealth worked great for me.
