Well, my dynomax kit arrived yesterday... was not amazing, but for the price was very happy with it... and that its about the only bolt up kit left out there....
Wish the tail pipe was longer... also had to cut and re weld the rear hanger so that it was higher... sat WAY too low before...
Other than that, it fit well, bolted up nice... am very happy with the sound!! Quiet idle, good sound at 2000 RPMs...
Also while I was at the shop late, I changed my fuel filter, and knowing I would have to prime the system, I pulled off the cover for theinjection pump and added 1/4 turn...
With just that these was a VERY noticable difference in power!! lots more low end to mid range power... For a $400 night, i am VERY happy with the results!!!!
I know my cheap home made system really woke my truck up, then I played with the fuel screw... I have a light haze a little quicker than I care for, but I have good power, so it would seem to be a good tradeoff, at least until I can afford a turbo...
Meh... some black on heavy load/accel... more noticable at night, not really noticable during the day.... no smoke at idle... had almost no smke with 3000 LB trailer up steep hills before... done feel 1/4 turn was too much at this point...
We are going away camping this weekend, and taking the trailer... will be a good smoke test... if its too much I can re-adjust....
1.5 flats on an old IP is probably not that bad for smoke.
The better flowing exhaust probably made up for the extra 1/2 flat.
Some intake work will help clear it up even more.
