HI!,
Take the transmission pan off, pull the filter. Take the pan and the filter to your local Ford dealership. Tell them you want a filter kit for your truck, that may lead to them being able to tell you the type of tranny you have.
If you or someone before you replaced the tranny in this truck and used one from a differant year or size truck that could also be the problem with identifying it by the numbers.
THE RETAILERS ONLY KNOW WHAT THEIR COMPUTERS TELL THEM FROM THE INFO THEY IMPUT!!!
Another possible way to find out what you've got is to pull the valve body. It's easy to get out and differant transmission almost always have a differant valve body.
Take it to the dealership or maybe better a Transmission repair shop and see if they can find one. If they can that may lead to finding out the info you need.
Hope this helps!
Good luck!!

the trans you have is an AOD, the aod and aode trans have 14 pan bolts, the C6 has 17 bolts. If you google search ford aod transmissions you will find a few sites about them, there is a really good site called PATC speed shop they have lots of parts and info. they also sell whole units if needed. hope this helps
thanks iwas puttin the thing in until 10 last night via coal miner light. test drove it and the gears now engage good but still seems that the engine puts forth more speed than the truck goes. oh well ill look on to see what to do next
