I now know I don't have the original transmission. My clutch petal looks like it was made from flat steel and the bolt that goes from the clutch to the linkage was cut and them welded overlaping. does anyone have a picture of the clutch linkage?
The shop manual that the FTE Online store sells shows the clutch linkage for F-7 and F-8 trucks these are simular to the F-1. The picture shows a release arm rod attached to the clutch pedal with a shoulder bolt and a turn buckle on the other end for clutch adjustment.
If you don't have a service manual now you need to purchase one. It will pay for itself with one repair.

Ditto on the shop manual. It's a small expense and if you take the time to go through it fairly thoroughly you'll find a huge amount of information about your truck.
