I have a 1955 F100
The instrument cluster has turn signal indicators,
but there is nothing else. No turn switch, lamps, ect.
do I have the wrong instrument cluster?
you have the correct cluster. turn signals were a option then and they really hadn't caught on yet. Most people used the hand signals then. Ford only installed one cluster, regardless of the truck having them or not. I restore these 53-55 clusters and all have the little arrows in them.
Its easy to fit the same instrument bulb size behind those arrows on the cluster and get the factory blinker look too. Nice green arrow. My 55 had an aftermarket clamp on the column turn wand box I am now going to drop since I am replacing the whole worn box & column with another that had the factory switch(fits under steering wheel).:7
My 55 had been rigged with an aftermarket turn signal, Is there a way to avoid doing that again. How can I get the signals to work inside the panel? Thanks...Tom
h20rep: Remove the cover tape over the bulb holes on the back of the panel, insert self-grounding sockets and bulbs, tap into the rf and lf turn signal wires. Dats it!
